Turihamwe - Burundi 300g
Turihamwe is a washing station in Ngozi, Burundi — the first and still the only women-owned washing station in the country. The name means “together,” and the spirit reinforces it—the station was founded by 7 women who pooled their resources after attending a financial training program. This offering comes from JNP Coffee, a new-to-us exporting and importing partner led by Jeanine Niyonzima-Aroian. Currently, our blend contains coffees from Tanzania (20%), Colombia (20%), and Guatemala (60%). Though the coffees comprising our blend change throughout the year, our goal is always to present something round and rich, with a comforting cola-sweetness that is amenable to a variety of brewing methods. In our own cafes, the Blend will often be served as espresso for milk-based beverages, because we believe that its mild brightness and syrupy body are perfectly suited for larger, cozier concoctions.Blend Classique - 300g Retail Bag

This community blend of Castillo and Colombia varieties was grown by 8 women in El Tambo and 3 surrounding municipalities (Popayán, Caldono, and Piendamó) in the Cauca region of Colombia. Representing two generations of women farmers, their ages range from 35 to 78 with an average of 60. Their names are: Nelsy Truque, Alicia Maca, Yaneth Cayapu, Eusebia Cotazo, Maria Pajoy, Elvira Lebaza, Ofelia Camayo, and Asunción Rodriguez. This coffee comes to us from Indiegrow, a social-impact oriented importer/exporter, and their “Brewing a Better World by Women” program focused on economic empowerment, social impact, and environmental sustainability. This lot represents Arango Specialty Coffee’s first ever decaf, a silky blend of Castillo, Typica, and Colombia varieties, harvested by family farmers in the remote village of La Miranda in Antioquia, Colombia. Having been raised by two generations of farmers, Juan Arango assembled this lot in support of overcoming the cartel and paramilitary violence of his region’s past. Grown at 2100 MASL in volcanic soil and on steep, shady hills, La Miranda was decaffeinated by the “sugarcane” Ethyl Acetate process at Descafecol.Triunfo Verde - Mexico 300g
Triunfo Verde is a fair-trade, organic-certified co-op in Chiapas, Mexico, made up of 372 smallholder farmers, 45% women. This lot comes from 50 women from Santuario, Frailesca. Our export partner Azahar began buying from them in 2021. We purchased 10% of this available women-produced lot. The coffee includes regional varieties of Marsellesa, Peñasco, Oro Azteca, and Bourbon, all handpicked, depulped and washed on-farm. This is a very clean and balanced coffee reminiscent of caramel, juicy ripe plum and tobacco in the cup.Luciano + Pascual - Guatemala 300g
From two small-scale farmers: Grown by just two seasoned producers — Luciano Rafael Gomez (aged 47) and Pascual Marcos Cardona (aged 67) — in Concepción Huista, high in the Huehuetenango region of Guatemala. Luciano and Pascual are native speakers of Popti' (aka Jakalteko), one of Guatemala's 22 official Mayan languages, and are members of the local co-op CODECH (Coordinadora de Organizaciones de Desarrollo de Concepción Huista), representing nearly 500 Mayan-branch descendent small farmers. In the cup we taste milk chocolate, blackberry, and fig jam.Antonia Fuentes - Mexico 300g
A first North American export, this washed lot of 100% Typica comes to us from Antonia Fuentes’s 6-hectare farm in the high-elevation Sierra Sur region of Oaxaca, Mexico. Antonia was born in the nearby village of San Andrés Lovene, where Zapotec is still spoken everyday, and where she’s part of the Lovene producer group. A mother of eight, a full-time farmer, and the heart of her household, this is the second straight year she’s sold her entire harvest of approx. 2,500 kg of parchment coffee; of which we bought 690 Kg via our export partner Azahar Coffee. In the cup we taste stewed mango, marzipan, and custard.Tiago Manzoli - Brazil 300g
The second single farm, natural processed coffee from Brazil on our menu is a Yellow Catucaí harvest fully emblematic of the terroir of southern Minas Gerais, and grown with the highest standards of environmental responsibility. Produced by teacher turned full-time farmer Tiago Lopes Manzoli on 7 hectares of land shared with his father, Beto Manzoli, in Ibitiúra de Minas. Nestled in the Serra da Mantiqueira mountains at 1,300 MASL, the father/son team also plant parcels of Arara, Mundo Novo, and Red Catuaí. We purchased this lot through family-run exporters Fazenda Ambiental Fortaleza, or FAFCoffees (our fourth purchase, the latest being Fernanda Moraes). In the cup, we taste toffee, blueberry muffin, and shortbread.Snack
