Mr. Bing started when we were studying Chinese in Beijing, every morning we would eat bings outside the school for breakfast, there was a nice lady who made them fresh on a bicycle cart. From those experiences, we fell in love with the culture and food and wanted to bring Chinese street food to America.
Nope! We didn’t have any initial concerns, we had worked with Ritual at another company. When we opened Mr. Bing we immediately welcomed it with open arms, we’ve never had a bad experience.
Ritual was one of the best things we could’ve done to bring exposure for Mr. Bing
At the start, we were a new food concept, people didn’t know what a bing was. With things like the $1 promos, Ritual was really helpful with introducing people to the bing, it was one of the best things we could’ve done to bring exposure for Mr. Bing.
It’s working out wonderfully, we started with one store and now have Ritual at our other two locations.
Brand exposure is definitely number one, getting the word out about our food was very valuable.
Don’t be afraid to run promos, don’t be afraid to spend some money and give discounts to get people to try your food. Capitalize on everything that’s available to you.
Ask what platforms can provide in terms of promos, I was very persistent, I took a few hits here and there but I was asking Ritual for more orders, and Olivia was responding with great ideas. When the promos work, it returns two fold.
